From a very young age I have been interested in not just playing games but designing them too, coming up with new and fun ideas for games which I still continue to do today. I now have a large collection of game design documents and sketch books full of not just game stories and concepts but in depth game mechanics and game play ideas. I play a large range of games including card, tabletop and roleplay games, as I always enjoy learning new game mechanics and ways that games can be designed.

While I studied and recieved a deploma in animation for both film and game development, game\level design is something I wish to pursue as a future career. I have a very active imagination when it come to game design, often thinking up a large array of creative and diverse ideas while trying to step out side "the box" and create a new experience. One area that may be the hardest part for me is just sticking with one idea because it normally doesn't take me very long before another idea comes up and happens to peak my interest even more.

For me level design also goes hand in hand with the game design. I love when a level/stage really ties a player into the feel or mood of a game, heightening the players experience. I've always felt that the level is a huge part of the story, capturing an overall feel and setting for the player. My ideas always go straight to paper regardless of the project at hand, though as I have now become more comfortable with the Unreal Editor 3 engine I'm now looking to take my designs and make them a 3d reality. Seeing an idea come to life in an interactive 3d level is what it's all about for me. Seeing my ideas come to life in an interactive world!

As shown above I really enjoy the thought behind all aspects of a games design. From well thought out game design and mechanics to an amazing story. With my background in traditional animation I enjoy story-boarding and sketching out any plots or story lines that come into my head. I guess when working on a game idea I really like to give input into any area of design possible, I have a lot of passion when it comes to any area of a games design. Working in a team or environment with like minded people is my goal. I know that what I don't have in experience I can make up for in hardwork, passion and dedication. I know this is what I want to do with my life.
